FAQs

Q. What is the difference between conventional-built and pre-engineered wall systems?
A. In one sense, they are the same (in the way the materials are being used). The biggest differences are that we can control the cost of your home in a manufactured setting (pre-engineered systems) versus the unpredictability of the job site (conventional construction), such as missed work due to weather and material delays. With systems-built technology, we can greatly reduce the construction time frame, thus allowing you a quicker move-in date.

Q. Is lending an issue with this type of home?
A. No. This type of house is considered a stick-framed home and falls under all criteria of banking guidelines. There are no additional concerns when it comes to securing a construction loan and converting to a conventional loan for your home.

Q. Are there cost savings?
A. Yes. You will see several cost savings throughout this type of system. The biggest is in the labor at the job site-in the controlled environment of a manufacturing facility, we have much more control over labor and material waste. We are environmentally conscious and we strive to minimize waste and material costs. We can spread efficiency over many homes at once, versus one at a time.

Q. What's included in the packages?
A. We include all dry-in materials from the shingles down to the sub-floor. We pre-build all exterior walls and interior walls along with all gable walls, dormers, trusses and garage walls. We preinstall the exterior house wrap and all windows and doors. The doors and windows can be preinstalled based on customers' needs. All porches and decks are included in each package as well.

Q. Design options?
A. You can pick from our 50-plus plans or customize a home to best fit your needs and lifestyle. Our on-staff architect will be glad to work with you individually to design your dream home. This service can be included in the overall project cost of the home and be incorporated into the loan process. You will receive five sets of plans for your project so that you can obtain bids and secure your financing.

Q. What are the freight costs?
A. All packages will be FOB from our factory locations. The number of trucks will be determined by the size of the home and complexity of the design. A typical load will be two trucks for the conventional, and two trucks for the log components.
